Fairfax City Speed Enforcement Cameras Protect Pedestrians in School Zones

City of Fairfax recently issued the following announcement.

City drivers have an additional reminder to obey speed limit in school zones: speed enforcement cameras recently activated near school zones in Fairfax City. Check out the video above for information.

Cameras are installed to protect students near six schools along Old Lee Highway, Fairfax Boulevard, and Jermantown Road:

  • Daniels Run Elementary School
  • Fairfax High School
  • Frost Middle School
  • Katherine Johnson Middle School
  • Providence Elementary School
  • Woodson High School
Additionally, portable cameras are available to enforce reduced speed limits in highway work zones to protect city work crews and contractors working in the right of way.
