Rep. Gerry Connolly, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 11th district, recently posted a series of tweets expressing his views regarding Donald Trump and the political dynamics in Washington. Connolly has been an outspoken critic of the former president and has used social media as a platform to communicate his perspectives to the public.

On April 2, 2025, Connolly suggested that unresolved issues related to former President Donald Trump will persist. He stated, "This isn’t going away, no matter how badly Donald Trump wishes it would. We will get answers."

The following day, on April 3, 2025, Connolly acknowledged the actions of President Biden, by thanking him through a tweet that simply read "Thanks a lot, @POTUS."

Later, on the same day, Connolly critiqued the previous administration with a succinct statement that encapsulated his view of Trump's term. He tweeted, "Chaos and carelessness. The Trump presidency in a nutshell."

Connellly, who has been in office since 2009 after replacing Tom Davis, continues to be an active voice in Congress. He brings extensive experience from his tenure in the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Connolly resides in Fairfax and holds a degree from Maryknoll Seminary.
