Gerry Connolly, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Virginia's 11th district, has taken to social media to express his concerns regarding national security issues under the current administration. Connolly, who has been serving in Congress since 2009 and previously served on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, voiced his apprehensions through a series of tweets.

On March 25, 2025, Connolly highlighted an incident involving national security leaders: "National security leaders put classified information in an unsecure text chain, and didn’t bother to check who else was on it." He criticized these individuals for their actions and connected them to former President Donald Trump by stating that Trump "hid classified documents in his bathroom at Mar-a-Lago," concluding with "The rot starts at the top."

Later that day, Connolly continued his critique of the administration's handling of sensitive information: "This Administration is playing games with our national security and putting American lives at risk. God only knows who else gained access to the incredibly sensitive information in that group chat." He emphasized that everyone involved should face consequences by stating that they "should be out of a job."
