Strangulation/Assault Arrest

On June 18, 2022 at 2:20 PM City of Fairfax Police responded to the entrance of Main Street Marketplace for a report of an assault.  

Investigation revealed that an unknown male subject approached a female from behind, wrapped his arm around her neck and caused her to fall to her knees.  The suspect left the area on foot and was later located at a nearby shopping center.  The victim sustained a minor injury to her neck, however, refused medical treatment.

Ronaldo Thomas, 41, of 920 Mentor Avenue Capital Heights, Maryland was arrested and charged with one count of Strangulation (18.2-51.6) and one count of Assault and Battery (18.2-57).  Thomas was held without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
