CITY OF FAIRFAX POLICE DEPARTMENT: Captain Kyle Penman Retired Today After 22 Years In Law Enforcement

Retiremnt

City of Fairfax Police Department issued the following announcement on Jun. 3.

Captain Kyle Penman retired today after 22 years in law enforcement. Captain Penman played an important role in the success of our Facebook page often times posting messages to the community and was known for his uniquely witty sense of humor and funny hashtags. Some of the best posts we have ever had, he was the creator of. In his true social media fashion, he wanted me to pass along a safety message. If anything good can come from his ocular melanoma cancer diagnosis, it’s that he wants everybody to be aware of the importance of getting yearly dilated eye exams. These exams will help in the early detection of this rare cancer. Captain Penman has held a number of positions here to include: patrol officer, motorcycle officer, public information officer, patrol supervisor, criminal investigations supervisor, peer support supervisor, and administrative support commander. Captain Penman has been a fantastic leader and mentor to many of our officers. Captain Penman will miss Fairfax City, the Police Department, and posting on the department’s social media! We wish him all the best during his retirement and I will try hard to continue to post social media content that he is proud of!
