Experience Arts in the Streets of Historic Old Town Fairfax, April 30

21

Historic Old Town Fairfax will transform into an open-air art market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 30. The Art Walk on Main will feature more than 20 local artists and provide an engaging outdoor art experience for casual art-lovers and aficionados alike. Admission is free, and free, accessible parking is available throughout Old Town Fairfax. (The rain date for this event is June 4.)

The Art Walk on Main is part of Fairfax City’s annual Spotlight on the Arts Festival and is organized in partnership with the Old Town Fairfax Business Association. A wide variety of artwork in different media and styles will be available to view and purchase. Visitors are encouraged to engage with the artists to learn what inspires their work and to learn what techniques they use.

“The City of Fairfax has always been a second home to artists, and it's a privilege to showcase some of the very best artists and makers,” said Debra Wright, artist, art walk organizer, and City of Fairfax Commission on the Arts member. “We’re excited to be back in the streets and eager to engage with everyone!”

Visitors are invited to participate in the Plastic Caps Mural project, which incorporates plastic bottle caps to encourage recycling and other ways to make a positive impact on the environment. The completed mural will be permanently displayed at the Green Acres Center.
