Northern Virginia Community College issued the following announcement on March 7
Behind seven goals from Roberto (TNT) Mejia, the Northern Virginia Community College Esports Rocket League team swept Heartland 3-0 (4-0, 5-1, 4-3) Monday evening in NJCAAE play.
TNT wasted little time getting the Nighthawks on the board when he scored his first tally of the evening 18 seconds into the game. Then for good measure, he added two more points in NOVA's first battle win.
It took a bit longer to score in the game two, but TNT hit paydirt twice more for the Nighthawks, and Brandon (Taurus) Woods nailed the hat trick in another four-goal victory.
John (Ehbility) Killian added his name to the scoring table with a goal six seconds into the final round. Taurus and TNT added a combined three goals with the latter nailing an insurance goal with 47 seconds remaining.
The NOVA Rainbow Six team is next on the slate when the group takes on Wichita State Tech Tuesday at 7 p.m.
