Child-Sized Mask Donations Needed

26

City of Fairfax issued the following announcement on Oct. 11

Masks are one of the best ways our community can help to fight the spread of COVID-19, especially children who are not eligible for vaccinations yet. Fairfax Health District is collecting child-size masks, size toddler and youth, who are not yet eligible for vaccination.

The goal is to collect 10,000 masks in October for our younger residents (toddler and youth) who are not vaccinated.

The biggest need right now is small masks for toddlers and youth size masks for school-aged kids. Numerous nonprofit partners have made requests — and we don’t have enough masks. You can help by donating either homemade face coverings or store-bought masks. All masks must be new and unused.

Donation Drop Off Locations

Fairfax County is currently accepting donations at all Fairfax County police stations. There are donation bins in each district station specifically for collecting masks. Click here for a map to see a list of county police stations.
