Gerry Connolly comments on passing of Rep. Grijalva and criticizes Republican policies

Rep. Gerry Connolly, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Virginia's 11th district since 2009, shared a series of tweets expressing condolences, celebration, and political opinions. Connolly, who succeeded Tom Davis and previously served on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, often uses his platform to address various issues.

On March 13, 2025, Connolly expressed sorrow over the death of Rep. Raúl Grijalva. He stated: "Heartbroken to hear of the passing of Rep. Raúl Grijalva. Raúl was a champion for his constituents and a friend to so many here in Congress. I’m thinking of all who loved him."

The following day, March 14, 2025, Connolly extended greetings for Holi, the Festival of Colors. He tweeted: "Happy Holi to all who celebrate! May the Festival of Colors bring joy, renewal, and hope for the coming year."

Later on March 14, 2025, Connolly commented on a political issue regarding a Republican Continuing Resolution (CR). He remarked: "The Republican CR was a non-starter for House Democrats for a reason — it cuts critical programs and allows Trump and Musk to seize more power. Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the White House. If they need our help, they can come to us with a clean solution we…"
