3.6% of Fairfax city residents considered unemployed in 2021

Fairfax city recorded an unemployment rate of 3.6% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 500 people out of the 23,980 living in Fairfax city at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Fairfax city has decreased compared to the 4% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Fairfax city was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.5%.

Of the 13,351 people who had a job during that time, 35 were employed in the Armed Forces and 13,316 belonged to the civilian labor force.
