Northern Virginia Community College Athletic Department issued the following announcement on Feb. 2
The Northern Virginia Community College Esports Rocket League team outscored Averett 14-1 Wednesday evening in Mid-Atlantic Esports Conference action and were led by Blessing (Mitsubah) Mbawuike, who had six goals.
The Nighthawks wasted little time scoring in the first game, as Mitsubah hammered in the first goal 20 seconds into the contest.
NOVA continued hammer in goals blanking Averett 5-0 before shutting the Cougars again 3-0 in game two. Sergio (Powerfulord) Villarroel, meanwhile, led the Nighthawks in the second battle with a pair of tallies.
During final game action, Averett scored first, but NOVA finished the round on a 6-0 run to take the win. Sebastian (Erebus) Calle led the Nighthawks in the win with his first hat trick of the MAEC season.
