Northern Virginia Community College Athletics issued the following announcement on Jan. 10
Former Northern Virginia Community College cross country student-athlete Emily Compton competed in Saturday's Walt Disney World Half Marathon and finished 21st in her age group division.
Compton a two-time All-NJCAA Region 20 runner with the Nighthawks finished 212 overall in the women's group with a time of 1 hour, 56:11 seconds. The Alexandria, native finished 30 seconds from the top 20 in her age group.
The Disney Half Marathon featured over twelve thousand runners with seven thousand being women.
