Support our Therapeutic Recreation team at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital by voting for them to win the National Garden Bureau's 2021 Therapeutic Garden Grant at https://ngb.org/therapeutic-garden-contest/!
Horticultural therapy is a unique program within our renowned inpatient rehabilitation center that incorporates gardening skills to meet individual patient goals. Weekly horticultural therapy sessions engage patients in a variety of activities, including: seed starting; propagation; floral arrangement; accessible garden techniques and mindfulness activities. Sessions are centered around a plant metaphor that relates to a patient's experience in rehabilitation and healing to the plant life cycle and nature.
The grant would be tremendously helpful to fund new raised beds, planters and other equipment for the program. Vote today at https://ngb.org/therapeutic-garden-contest/!
