PRINTING United Alliance issued the following announcement on Aug. 11
PRINTING United Alliance, the most comprehensive member-based printing and graphic arts association in the U.S., today announces the appointment of apparel industry veteran Josh Carruth to managing director, apparel community. In this role, Carruth is responsible for the growth and support of all apparel-related programs and membership initiatives at PRINTING United Alliance. Carruth will oversee the Apparel Zone, a working microfactory on the show floor at PRINTING United Expo, which takes place Oct. 6-8 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
“We are thrilled to have attracted the talent and experience of an individual like Josh who has had incredible success in his career working with the apparel decoration community,” says Dave Leskusky, president of PRINTING United Alliance. “Josh brings vision, creativity, and strong relationships with this community which align with our values to support the health and growth of the industry. We are excited to welcome Josh to help build upon one of the key communities upon which SGIA (now PRINTING United Alliance) was founded.”
Carruth previously worked with Emerald Expositions for 16 years in various roles, including senior portfolio director, tradeshow director, and operations manager, supporting the company’s sales and events departments. He was responsible for leading brand strategy and profit and loss management across all media/events within the portfolio while driving profitable event and media growth and acting as a conduit to the audience and vendor experience both on-site at trade shows and year-round.
“I am beyond excited to join this incredible team and help lead the efforts in support of this essential segment of the printing industry,” says Carruth. “The decorated apparel community has deep roots in the association, and it is so humbling to be part of that renewed commitment to its place in the market and what that brings to the table for the industry at large.”
