Gerry Connolly, a U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 11th district, shared several updates and opinions through his social media on March 12, 2025. Known for his active engagement with constituents and political discourse, Connolly addressed topics ranging from art competitions to international relations.

On March 12, 2025, Connolly announced the commencement of the annual Congressional Art Competition. He invited high school students from Virginia’s 11th district to participate and submit their entries. “We are officially accepting entries for our annual Congressional Art Competition! Find more information about the competition, guidelines, and submission forms on our website: https://t.co/Z29bWmKJas.”

Later that day, Connolly expressed criticism towards certain political figures regarding their treatment of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people amidst ongoing conflicts. “The way Trump, Vance, and Rubio are treating President Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people is reckless and despicable. The Ukrainian people are brave. They are fighting for their freedom and their country. Putin, on the other hand, is a brutal dictator. He must be defeated.”

In another statement made on the same day, Connolly accused former President Donald Trump of unethical conduct during his tenure in office by transforming the White House lawn into a venue promoting Tesla vehicles. “Donald Trump turned the White House lawn into a Tesla showroom. It’s open corruption.”
