Gerry Connolly, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 11th district, has recently expressed his concerns on various political issues through a series of tweets. Connolly, who has been serving in Congress since 2009 after replacing Tom Davis, shared his views on the actions of former President Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

On February 22, 2025, Connolly criticized Donald Trump’s decision to remove senior military officials. In his tweet, he stated: “Donald Trump’s purge of senior military officials, including JAG officers and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, is another move to rid himself of people who follow the law and are willing to tell him ‘no.’ Trump is unmoored from reality and without guardrails.”

Later that day, Connolly addressed issues related to the Postal Service. He highlighted concerns about Trump’s reported plans for the Post Office by tweeting: “Congress prescribed a clear and critical mandate for the Postal Service: to deliver efficient, reliable, and universal service to all Americans. Instead, Trump’s reported plans for the Post Office would subject the entire mail network to political interference.”

On February 23, 2025, Connolly commented on Elon Musk’s recent threat towards federal workers. He described it as illegal and reckless in his tweet: “The threat issued by Elon Musk to federal workers today is illegal, reckless, and yet another example of the cruel and arbitrary chaos he is inflicting on the people’s government.”
