South Fairfax Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

INFORMATION SESSION: New Joint City/County Facility for Health and Wellness

Fairfax City and Fairfax County are redeveloping the Joseph Willard Health Center and Sherwood Community Center sites into a single destination for health, wellness, fitness, child care and performing arts in downtown Fairfax.

Located at the corner of Layton Hall Drive and Old Lee Highway, the new recreation and health service facility will be built in place of the current Willard Health Center and include a campus redesign that connects to the Sherwood Center.

You are invited to offer input on various aspects of the design. You can do so either virtually or in-person at “Drop-In” events. “Drop-In” events are opportunities for the public to learn about the project, ask questions, and provide input on the planning and design of the project.  Visit the Willard-Sherwood Health and Community Center website for more
information.

FAQs: More information about the background and feasibility studies for Joseph Willard Health Center (JWHC) and Green Acres can be found in the Willard-Sherwood Health and
Community Center FAQs.
