Gerry Connolly, a U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 11th district since 2009, has recently shared his views on several matters through social media. Connolly, who succeeded Tom Davis and has a background in local governance with the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, has made his stance clear on issues ranging from free speech to the Postal Service.

On March 14, 2025, Connolly expressed concern over restrictions on criticizing the president. He remarked that such limitations are indicative of tyranny: “Don’t let yourself get used to this stuff. It is not normal. Illegal to criticize the president? Those are the words of tyrants. A dangerous speech from a small, petty man.”

In a lighter note, Connolly wished his followers well on March 17, 2025: “Happy St. Patrick’s Day! “ This tweet reflects a festive spirit amidst ongoing political discourse.

Later that day, Connolly addressed concerns regarding former President Donald Trump’s actions toward the Postal Service. He called for legislative scrutiny into Trump’s influence: “Donald Trump’s broad assault on the independence of the Postal Service demands Congressional oversight. The American people deserve a full committee hearing, open to the public, to hear the truth about his plans for the Post Office.”
