Gerry Connolly, a U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 11th district since 2009, has been vocal on social media regarding recent political developments. Known for his critical stance on certain policies and figures, Connolly shared his views through a series of tweets.

On March 5, 2025, Connolly commented on the notion of restoring law and order. He stated, “We must bring back law and order.” He further criticized the idea by pointing out the actions of “a 34-time convicted felon who released violent criminals who brutally attacked police officers from prison.”

In another tweet on the same day, Connolly questioned the definition of supporting law enforcement. He asked rhetorically, “Remind me, is it considered ‘supporting our police’ when you pardon the people who beat them with flag poles and fire extinguishers?”

Later that morning, Connolly expressed concerns about former President Donald Trump’s policies. In a detailed post, he asserted that Trump was adhering to a specific agenda that he believes negatively impacts various communities and institutions. Connolly wrote: “Instead, Donald Trump doubled down on the Project 2025 playbook and on his agenda to terrorize immigrant communities, traumatize federal workers, eviscerate critical programs and services Americans rely on…”
