Rep. Gerry Connolly, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 11th district, has recently shared his views on several significant issues through a series of tweets. Connolly, who has been in office since 2009 and previously served on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, commented on matters ranging from international diplomacy to domestic oversight.

On February 14, 2025, Connolly criticized Vice President Vance’s performance at the Munich Security Conference. He described it as “one of the most embarrassing performances we have ever seen from an American official” and labeled it a “major misstep by the Trump Administration.” “Vice President Vance stumbled on to the scene at the Munich Security Conference, delivering one of the most embarrassing performances we have ever seen from an American official.”

In another tweet posted on February 15, 2025, Connolly emphasized the importance of allowing inspectors general to conduct their investigations without interference. He stated that this was “an important step” for maintaining accountability within government operations. “This is an important step, and inspectors general must be free to pursue their investigations without interference.”

Also on February 15, 2025, Connolly expressed concerns about privacy issues related to Elon Musk and Dogecoin (DOGE). He highlighted efforts by the Oversight Democrats to address these concerns and prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data. “The @OversightDems were one of the first to throw the flag on this. Elon Musk and DOGE can’t be allowed to creep on Americans’ most sensitive data as they operate in the shadows.”
