Congressman Gerry Connolly, representing Virginia’s 11th district since 2009, has voiced concerns over issues related to Elon Musk and his business operations. Connolly’s remarks have sparked discussions, especially concerning his demands for investigations into potential misconduct.

On April 16, 2025, Connolly revealed efforts to scrutinize Musk’s activities, stating, “I sent a letter to the NLRB Inspector General demanding an immediate investigation into the work Elon Musk’s DOGE team may have performed, including any and all attempts to exfiltrate nonpublic data from NLRB and DOL and any attempts to cover up their activities.”

In collaboration with Rep. Maxwell Frost, Connolly has also initiated another probe into NASA. Connolly notes, “@RepMaxwellFrost and I sent a letter to NASA launching an investigation into how the agency is ensuring that Elon Musk is not exploiting NASA to enrich himself and his companies in violation of federal ethics rules.”

Connolly further expressed a commitment to oversight, specifically concerning Musk and former President Donald Trump: “Oversight Democrats are committed to holding Donald Trump and Elon Musk accountable for their rampant corruption, their illegal dismantling of your government, and the harm they are causing American families. We will not relent.”

Gerry Connolly has represented Virginia’s 11th District in the U.S. Congress since 2009, previously serving on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.
