The George Mason University women’s basketball team has secured a share of the 2026 Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championship, marking the first time in program history that they have claimed a regular season conference title. The Patriots ended league play with a 16-2 record, which is their best performance in Atlantic 10 competition to date.

George Mason shares this achievement with Rhode Island, as both teams finished at the top of the conference standings. The Patriots’ 16 wins set a new school record and complete one of their most successful seasons. This year also marks the team’s first run of three consecutive seasons with at least 20 victories.

Due to their regular season results and tie-breaker rules, George Mason will enter the upcoming Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Championship as the No. 2 seed and receive a double-bye. Their tournament play begins in the quarterfinals on Friday, March 6, at 5 p.m. on USA Network, where they will face either No. 7 Dayton or No. 10 George Washington.

Fans are encouraged to support the team at the Henrico Sports & Events Center during the tournament. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster or by contacting the George Mason Athletic Ticket Office at 703-993-3270.

Transportation options include a fan bus for those attending, along with a pregame pep rally organized by the George Mason Alumni Association inside the arena before each game.
