George Mason University’s women’s lacrosse team will travel to Philadelphia for its first Atlantic 10 conference match of the season against La Salle University. The game is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, at noon at McCarthy Stadium.

This meeting marks the tenth time the two teams have faced each other. George Mason currently leads the series with eight wins to La Salle’s two. In their most recent matchup in April 2025, George Mason secured an 18-8 victory.

Last season, George Mason finished with a 7-10 overall record and went 2-8 in conference play. The Patriots were ranked seventh in the Atlantic 10 Preseason poll this year. Returning players include top scorers Kate Anders (40 goals), Daniella Jimenez (28 goals), and Kaitlyn Bestick (19 goals). Goalkeeper Regan Bestick also returns after starting all 17 games last season and making 144 saves.

Kate Anders has achieved notable milestones, tying for second in program history for most points in a single game with nine points. She also surpassed 100 career points following a match against American University on February 27.

The Patriots added ten new players to their roster this season: freshmen Kate Carpenter, Zuri Crumpton, Gracie Mullen, Addison Bechler, Ava Clark, Emma Carey, Olivia Perry, Kata Buttrey, Delaney Stup; and sophomore Matye Riley. Delaney Stup scored four goals in her collegiate debut.

La Salle concluded its previous season with a record of one win and fifteen losses overall and did not secure any conference victories. The Explorers finished eleventh in the Atlantic 10 standings last year and are ranked tenth in this year’s preseason poll. Key returning players include Sam Klein (16 goals) and Emi Waldron (15 goals). Goalkeepers Mary Babbage (107 saves) and Brooke Nelson (82 saves) are also back for La Salle.

After Saturday’s game, George Mason will return home to host Howard University on Tuesday, March 10.
