George Mason University’s softball team will begin its Atlantic 10 Conference schedule this weekend with a home series against Fordham at the GMU Softball Complex. The Patriots, currently holding a 6-9 record, will play three games against the Rams: a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday. All games are open to the public with free admission.

The series opens Saturday, March 7, with games scheduled for noon and 2:30 p.m., followed by a Sunday matchup at noon. Fans can follow live stats or watch broadcasts on ESPN+.

Fordham arrives in Fairfax with a 5-9 overall record after competing in last weekend’s FIU Classic. The Rams split their doubleheaders, shutting out South Dakota and securing an extra-inning win over Harvard.

Neleh Nogay leads Fordham’s offense with a .400 batting average, ten runs scored, and twenty hits. Kate McGuire has four doubles this season, while Eva Koratsis leads in triples (two) and RBIs (eight). Victoria Klimaszewski is responsible for the team’s only home run so far.

On the pitching side, Fordham holds a team ERA of 3.87 and has allowed sixty-one runs this year. Holly Beeman leads the staff with a 2.30 ERA over 24.1 innings pitched. Olivia Simcoe has thrown the most innings (35.2), posting five complete games and eighteen strikeouts.

Earlier this week, George Mason ended a six-game losing streak by defeating Georgetown 3–1 on Wednesday, March 4. Logan Pickford hit a triple that nearly cleared the fence during the fifth inning, helping spark two runs for the Patriots.

Freshman pitcher Bri Lencz earned her first collegiate win during that game, while fellow freshman Alyssa Rangel recorded her first career save. Kaleigh Friend contributed two hits and drove in two runs; Pickford went two-for-four with one run scored and another driven in; Madeline Staats notched her second career double.
