George Mason University will conclude its regular season in men’s basketball on Saturday by hosting No. 25 Saint Louis at EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, Virginia. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. and will be broadcast nationally on USA Network.
The Patriots enter the matchup with a 22-8 overall record and a 10-7 mark in Atlantic 10 Conference play. Saint Louis holds a 27-3 overall record and is 15-2 in conference games. George Mason trails the all-time series against Saint Louis, with six wins to the Billikens’ eleven.
Saturday’s event will also serve as Senior Day for George Mason, with a ceremony honoring Dola Adebayo, Nick Ellington, Fatt Hill, and Masai Troutman set to start at 3:43 p.m.
The game marks the first time since February 21, 2024, that George Mason has hosted a top-25 opponent. On that occasion, the Patriots defeated then-No.16 Dayton by a score of 71-67.
Since the beginning of the 2024-25 season, George Mason has achieved notable success within the conference and nationally. The team ranks second in the Atlantic 10 for total wins over this period and is tied for twenty-fifth nationally with forty-nine victories. This season alone, only forty-five programs across Division I have reached at least twenty-two wins.
Despite recent challenges—losing six of their last eight games—the Patriots maintain an overall strong performance in conference play dating back to last season. They are currently locked into the fifth seed for next week’s Atlantic 10 Championship tournament in Pittsburgh and will face either the twelfth or thirteenth seed on Thursday at 2 p.m., also on USA Network.
Recent performances include a close road loss to VCU (70-65), where George Mason held their opponent below its average offensive output and limited them to under forty-four percent shooting from the field. Riley Allenspach recorded his third double-double of the season during that game, averaging more than twenty points per contest over his last three appearances. Kory Mincy returned from injury to lead all scorers against VCU with eighteen points.
Under head coach Tony Skinn, who became the first coach in school history to achieve three consecutive seasons with twenty or more wins, George Mason has been particularly successful at home—winning forty-eight out of fifty-six games played in Fairfax since he took charge.
Saint Louis arrives having met expectations set during preseason polls; they were picked second in the Atlantic 10 and have won fifteen out of seventeen league games so far. The Billikens are among national leaders in both offensive and defensive efficiency metrics as well as three-point shooting percentage and rebounding margin. Robbie Avila leads Saint Louis in scoring while Trey Green is recognized for his proficiency from beyond the arc.
Looking ahead, George Mason’s postseason campaign begins Thursday when they open play as part of the Atlantic 10 Championship tournament.
