FOIA Request to Fairfax County Va Treasurer Regarding Property Tax Records 2024 – Present on May 12, 2025.

As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, South Fairfax News has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Fairfax County Va Treasurer. The request seeks access to property tax records for the years 2024 and any available data for 2025. Specifically, we have asked for details including Parcel ID, Year, Tax Value, and Assessed Value.

This request is made under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, ยง2.2-3704 et seq., with a preference for receiving the information in electronic format. As members of the media dedicated to gathering and reporting news to the public, we emphasize that access to such public records is crucial for fulfilling our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency in government actions.

We are also part of The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization that assists media companies and advocacy groups in investigating state and federal governmental agencies.
